FAQ
Common Questions
No. The ribbed wall design resists collapse pressure during backfill. In suitable soils, you can backfill with native material without adding water ballast — saving time and cost on your project.
In most Central Valley soils, yes. The Bruiser's ribbed design handles native backfill well in suitable conditions. For clay-heavy or high-water-table sites, washed rock or pea gravel may be recommended. Your installer can advise based on local conditions.
A single-compartment tank works for most smaller systems. Dual-compartment tanks provide an extra stage of solids separation before effluent reaches your drain field, which can improve field longevity and is required by some local codes.
All tanks include standard 4" poly bulkhead fittings and manway access ports. Pre-plumbed options with PVC tees and septic adapters are available for select sizes.
All Norwesco Bruiser septic tanks carry a 3-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Yes. Norwesco Bruiser tanks are IAPMO certified for California and meet state health department requirements for septic use. Always confirm specific requirements with your local health department.
High groundwater sites may require additional anchoring or a concrete ballast pad. Your installer can evaluate conditions and recommend the right approach. The Bruiser's lightweight poly construction is actually more manageable than concrete in these situations.
